The Sliding Side Door (SSD) is a downhole flow control device that enables communication between the tubing and annulus, allowing for circulation and selective production. It features a movable ported inner sleeve, which can be opened, equalized, or closed. The sleeve movement is controlled via a slickline shifting tool, allowing for repeated operation without requiring tubing manipulation.
The SSD is designed with a lock profile in the top sub and packing sealbores in both the top and bottom subs. This configuration allows for various subsurface flow control devices to be installed inside or below the SSD to regulate circulation or production.
