The ETPR Hydraulic-Set Tubing-Retrievable Packer is a single-string, ESP-compatible packer designed for electric submersible pump (ESP) well completions. This packer features multiple pass-through ports, which can be used to accommodate electric cables, gas vent valves, chemical injection valves, downhole control lines, or other ESP accessories.
The ETPR packer is installed with the completion tubing and set by applying pressure to the tubing. It utilizes bi-directional carburized slips to securely anchor the packer while minimizing casing damage. For larger-sized packers, an optional hold-down button slip can be configured to resist differential pressure from below.
This packer is retrieved by a simple straight upward pull on the tubing, eliminating the need for a separate retrieving tool. The shear release value can be field-adjusted to meet specific operational requirements.
