The Releasing and Circulating Overshot is a specialized fishing tool designed for externally engaging pipes during fishing operations. It is capable of retrieving drill collars, drill pipes, tubing, and other downhole pipes. Equipped with an integrated seal, the overshot allows for the circulation of drilling fluids at high pump pressures after successfully engaging the fish.
A guide shoe is located at the bottom of the overshot, which serves to centralize the fish, ensuring proper alignment for retrieval. The tool is also compatible with jars, enhancing its ability to free stuck fish. In cases where the fish cannot be retrieved, the overshot can be released, allowing the drill string to be safely tripped out of the hole.
✔ External engagement – Securely grips drill collars, drill pipes, tubing, and other pipes.
✔ Circulation capability – Integrated seal allows high-pressure fluid circulation after catching the fish.
✔ Guide shoe for centralization – Helps properly align the fish for effective engagement.
✔ Jar compatibility – Can be used with jars to enhance fishing efficiency.
✔ Releasable mechanism – Enables the release of the overshot in case the fish cannot be retrieved.
✔ Robust and field-proven design – Engineered for harsh downhole environments.
🔹 Fishing Operations – Retrieving stuck or broken drill collars, drill pipes, and tubing.
🔹 Wellbore Cleaning – Removing debris and unintended obstructions in the wellbore.
🔹 High-Pressure Drilling Environments – Circulating fluids at high pump pressures for effective recovery.
🔹 Directional & Deviated Wells – Ensuring successful engagement in challenging wellbore geometries.
🔹 Emergency Retrieval – Releasing the overshot to trip out the drill string when necessary.
