The flow meter in the intelligent completion system operates based on the law of energy conservation—Bernoulli’s equation and the continuity equation for flow measurement.
The flow meter is equipped with a built-in differential pressure sensor and temperature sensor, which monitor the pressure difference and temperature generated between the high-pressure flow port and the low-pressure flow port.
Using an integrated microcontroller inside the Venturi flow meter, the system identifies and reads signals. These signals are then transmitted to the surface through a 1/4” steel pipeline cable.
