Cement Retainers are used for secondary cementing operations, which are set securely in the casing, the ratchet lock ring stores the setting force in the retainer, and the sealing element and back up rings combine for a relaible seal, one piece slips virtually eliminate premature setting, the material is cast iron, also can be drilling out, the setting tools are optional with wireline, hydraulic or mechnical.
